Healing Trails has become a part of my annual detox therapy. Every time I take a group of my closest colleagues for these Himalayan Treks it makes brings us together like beads of a rosary and heals all of us in a process. The group how much ever diverse and unknown to each other become connected at much deeper planes through a period of just 10days…
This year I had been with a close group of 12-14 Homoeopaths for hikes in Parvati Valley, Kullu India and just returned with my heart full of high energy experiences. We did hikes to nearby peaks, everyday walking for about 6-7 hours uphill and gradually ascending from 2,000mtrs to the last we did at 3500mtrs. During our daily walks we would walk through the forests, cross streams, sit in the stream wetting ourselves, look at beautiful massive trees with all odd shapes and sizes, find some bits and pieces from nature which touched us, stones, twigs with peculiar shapes and kept collecting all of it. While doing all this spontaneously we would exhaust ourselves mentally and physically through the day. And at night we would sit by the candle light to share each ones experience through the day… As we warmed up to each other, the fire seemed to create a beautiful collective space, it gave an opening door to the emotional, mental, delusional, perceptional mess in our brains.
On all the days spontaneously we did a right brain activity like witnessing in the darkness, singing, dancing, playing and throwing ourselves in the mud pool, making individual piles of balancing stones. And we wrote down our personal experience during these activities at the end of the day.
As we reached the peak of our journey we spent more and more time doing silent walks, star gazing, cloud gazing, peak gazing and glacier crossing, every time peculiar things popping up from the subconscious…at the end of the journey everyone revisited those 10 days and could see beautiful connections from the daily chores, to walking, to daily activities and understand oneself in a completely different way.
While all the 15 people were totally different personalities of different age groups who had met each other for the first time, those 10days brought such a beautiful collective space for each one, where one could make meaning of all scattered pieces in their life, some went through a retrospective version of their life to see how it all seemed situational, some came up with poetry describing their entire life, some came face to face with their fears, some found solace in someone’s company almost resonating similar feelings where one completing the other almost meeting each other at the similimum field.
