D:      Today I am just going to try and understand you, feel free and allow yourself to speak, as if you are conversing with a mirror?

P:      After Dengue Fever all these complaints have started and my triceps major tear also I put my hand on the bed and it just happen to swell. I never had any sickness earlier, after dengue all these aches and pains have come up.

         I am a passionate for working, I work on Sundays also. I am a hard-earned – learning- business – work- enjoy life model. This is my goal, I never get tired, I work so much so I need 2 pegs of whisky. Travel is hectic, I need to go the US every month.

D:      who are you in different stages of your life?

P:      when you come up in life, a very hard life, then passion is the only thing which drives me. Passion to keep succeeding, accumulating.

         Everyone in my company is rewarded, if my key managers take loans I pay them off. My risk bearing ability is going up. I mortgaged my house, office I purchased then my company grew. From 1 crore company to 71000 crore company. I wish I could keep growing like this. My daughter gets worried I have 15 crore loan.

Area Self –

         I like to play chess, cricket, I am an athlete. My daughter says I splurge money… I am into multiple ventures, I think one should always be human centric. I enjoy working, will work for another 15-20 yrs, I always look at the top.

D:      see what else comes up?

P:      I want to enjoy life, passion to grow, from my receptionist to everyone want to give their children free education for the first 18-20 yrs of their life. They are the ones who have given me growth, growth, only growth, when someone says slow down I smile and tell them its business. Use to trust people easily

D:      lets go to your childhood?

P:      lived in a chawl in Byculla, was notorious, when you are with bad company you become bad, was caught forgering.

Saw Gambler movie everyday, same show everyday, wasted 2 years of my life.

         Worked as a clerk in bank, did engineering, LLM, LLB, MBA in Vellinker, then was in TATA, then wanted to do something of my own, borrowed money, mortgaged, paid salary. If you have to fly high you have to do all this.

         Means if you are driving a car, you cant drive looking in the rear view, you have to look forward. So you cannot loose focus. I happy where I have reached from where I was

         I was working with a big businessman, and my brother wanted we should do partnership with him. I usually have a difference of opinion he is a big man, I am a small man, if I give more, he’ll gulp my company, so I moved out and started on my own, gave my brother all guidelines to associate with him.

         So people think I am head strong, but I have calibre and talent, so I know I’ll do something. I dream, eat, drink, walk, talk business.

         I want to do something for parents and sister, they slogged for us, they couldn’t enjoy life.

         One weakness of mine is I am very transparent, I talk openly with anyone.

         When I started with business I was not so ambitious, now my risk bearing capacity has increased.

D:      tell me about your dreams in sleep?

P:      I remember in childhood this one particular dream would come and after than dream I would get fever, so I would dream that about a mouse and next moment I would get fever.

         Worried about snakes a lot, there was no light, only grass, and something moved and I ran, and I almost fallen down from the building. But snakes in the dream don’t harm me.

         Another dream I got, is I am flying pushing my hands up and down, like a pigeon, or like an eagle and easily go up and down, go up and down, I push hands and I can fly in the dream. This is the most recurrent dream I get. I am often not walking but flying the dreams

D:      in your alone space what day-dream or imaginations cross your mind?

P:      to become big, not to be in difficult situations, have good money. Took 10000 from my father and did gambling in childhood. Never thought much, I only always wanted to become big, I should grow that’s it by whatever means.

D:      what is growth for you?

P:      it’s a journey, not big money but reasonable money (defense), nothing has stopped me, or I am not stuck at any level. I want to do something for the villagers, if I had to invest money I will give it to villagers, because there are never deflauters especially poor women entrepreneurs, and poor people will not default. I am here to find meaning of life, help poor villages, and school children. I am people centric man, help people, like to teach was a faculty for 10 yrs.

D:      your idea of growth?

P:      I have 500 employees today, let them grow along with me, I tell them take money for me, I do charity in this way, never even ask them back.

D:      you said dream big, no guidance?

P:      I was notorious, there is a leader in me always. There was a faculty in my Chennai college, I was in 8^th standard and he did a case on me. I had no guidance, I thought I will make sure I have more degrees than you. I had no direction at that time, but I dropped 12^th standard to study and go for higher scoring. Then I went to ITI was defocused, I realised this is not in my calibre, then joined a bank. I thought I had to be more degree holder than this guy, so while working in the bank I had ample of time, so I completed my engineering, did law in the morning.

         Did multiple things at a time, didn’t go in a straight line. Like someone filed case I thought I should study law, so I had no direction

P:      another incident, I remember when I was in college, I became the GS of the college, I was not in any political group, there was history of 10yrs that Shiv Sena group person became the GS, but I became against all odds. But I had no group. They kidnapped my friends who were supporting me, you cant fight alone without an organisation.

         I had political ambitions, the very guys who were against me offered me a seat in Shiv Sena. Then I got a call from the congress. But if you are in congress you are a drop in the ocean. They said if VP singh becomes the PM then I’ll be in the limelight, but I thought he will be number 1 and I will be number 2, but I wanted to be number 1. Today I feel if I has guidance then I would have joined there, after all politics has money, would have gone that route…

D:      but at that time…

P:      yes, maybe I would become the leader later, in a group I am always the leader, number 1, somebody challenging me I would get angry…I lead the team, I cannot keep quiet…

D:      what is that raw idea of number 1?

P:      sizeable, quantifiable, leader in whatever, not a defined goal, but I have to be in limelight, cannot be in the shadow, like to be in the front…

D:      you also said that focus is important for you?

P:      whatever you are doing defines you, will throw off the employee who doesn’t perform, but also take care of them, people should not feel that I made the company go into loss, also if you don’t trust me then no point in playing together, focus is to deliver the best. Perform or you perish…like Shiva the destroyer…it is interrelated to management. Like ancient things a lot…like to read about Tukaram. You know a flight came and he went is what they say about him, I truly strongly believe that people can fly.

D:      Can you tell me about this dream of flying?

P:      pushing my hands, air down and going up, swing with the wind, learning to fly with no purpose, not for reaching any destination. Just go up, up, and swing and turn around, go fast everywhere, where there is no law and order

D:      no law and order?

P:      no law breaking, peaceful country, people respect each other, law and order is very strong everywhere.

D:      you described flying like a kite?

P:      just flying, wherever I want to go, I believe in some years it will be possible…

D:      since childhood till today, your focus is clear, of growing, no.1 position which you wanted in college, in politics, in business, you want to be number one.

P:      make and break, create and destroy, but I am an old man, but don’t harm anyone, beyond a point if the opinions don’t match, I draw a line, just maintain a cordial relation no harm. In a subtle way say that I don’t want to pay him, someone else should pay him, or draw a limit, but no one should harm… I am adamant…sometimes I get scared that I should not fall…

D:      yes when you push yourself too much, your vision, your goal, then the push becomes out of proportion, then that brings disbalance…
